Great news from 2015-2016 Fulbright Schuman grantee Letitia Zwickert who is an International Relations, World Cultures, and Minorities Teacher in the Social Studies Department at Naperville Central High School.
Her Euro Challenge team, made up of all Sophomore girls from her IR class, won the Midwest Regional competition at the Chicago Fed in April, which brought them to NYC this past week. After the Thursday morning Semifinals at the NY FED, the team placed in the top five, out of 25 of the nations top schools, and moved on to the afternoon Finals. In front of a large auditorium of people, including EU Ambassador O’Sullivan and top economic officials from the US and Europe, the girls placed fourth in the country!
Theirs is the first Illinois team to get this far, and was the only all girls team in the Finals 🙂 They won a beautiful trophy and some nice pocket change.
