The Fulbright Schuman Program supports American students and professionals—including policy-makers, researchers, academics, and individuals in media, politics and public administration—who wish to study, research, or lecture on topics related to US-EU relations, EU policy, or EU institutions.
Grants last 6–9 months for students and 3–9 months for scholars.
Following an initial review by IIE, shortlisted applicants are contacted by the Fulbright Commission in Brussels for an interview in mid-February.
Projects may be based in one EU Member State or across multiple countries, provided they maintain a strong pan-European perspective. American applicants to the Fulbright Schuman Program apply through IIE.
